We are proud to announce the launch of ChIRS — Chemical Innovation and Regulation for Sustainability.

ChIRS (Chemical Innovation and Regulation for Sustainability) is the new evolution of ChIR (Chemical Innovattion and Regulation), bringing the EU’s Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) vision into the heart of chemical innovation and regulatory practice.

Building on the strong foundations of ChIR, ChIRS expands the consortium to two new full partner universities: the University of Gdansk and the University of Lisbon. The new curriculum is now aligned with the Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) framework, helping students develop the skills to design chemicals and materials that deliver performance while anticipating safety and sustainability expectations from the earliest stages of innovation.

ChIRS has been accredited following the European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes, reinforcing the programme’s joint character, academic coherence, and international recognition.
