The ChIRS application portal is now back online and candidates can access it normally.

The temporary “503 Service Temporarily Unavailable” error affecting the application website has been resolved. Candidates may now log in, continue their application, or submit any pending documents through the application portal.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank all candidates for their patience and understanding.

Applications remain open until 15 July.

ChIRS 2026–2028 Second Call Now Open
The second call for ChIRS student applications for the 2026–2028 edition is now open. Apply by July 15, 2026. Classes start in October 2026, with the University of Algarve, Portugal, as Host University for 2026/2027. Consortium funding is available for top-ranked candidates.

ChIRS 2026 First Call Assessment Completed
The assessment of the 1st call for ChIRS student applications 2026 is complete. Appeal responses have been sent, selected candidates will be contacted next week with enrolment information, and the 2nd call will open on May 5, 2026.

Student applications are now open for ChIRS — the new SSbD-aligned evolution of the ChIR Joint Master. The first ChIRS edition starts in October 2026, with Year 1 hosted by the University of Algarve, continuing 14 years of European joint excellence in a new sustainability-focused format.
