learning objectives:

Students will become familiar the concept of global environmental changes, with a special focus on climatic changes. They will be aware of the threat posed by global changes to mankind and the environment and of the international agreements for protection of the global environment and reduction of the impact of global changes. Students will acquire theoretical and practical expertise of material flow analysis (MFA) techniques for the sustainable management of chemicals. They will gain knowledge about the social and economic aspects to be considered in the sustainable management of chemcials. The student will be able to: 1. Compare the guidelines and recommendation of the international agreements with the local and global trends; 2. Understand and apply material flow analysis (MFA) techniques;3. Understand social and economic sustainability concepts and how they affect the sustainable management of chemicals.
