Students will understand the concepts and principles of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and learn how to model material recycling and energy recovery in LCA. They will understand the concepts and principles of plastics chemistry, their impact on living organisms and their recycling. The student is expected to be able to: 1. Gain basic LCA modelling skills; 2. Illustrate the enviornmental fate of plastic materiasl and describe their adverse impacts on living organisms.
